2008 Beijing Summer Camp
 The ACLS Summer Camp program is designed to provide the most comprehensive and balanced curriculum for young learners.
Featured in the Travel section of the LA Times newspaper, this unique program offers the integral ‘immersion’ aspects of the Academy’s successful China programs for the past 10 years. It merges the ACLS ‘Real Life’ learning methodology together with a comprehensive program of Chinese language classes, cultural workshops, guided excursions and social and sporting activities, allowing students to rapidly improve their Mandarin whilst enjoying their summer holidays.

As one of China’s first Immersion camps, this unique program focuses on teaching students the Chinese language and culture by creating an environment that facilitates maximum interaction with local Chinese students.
As a special feature of the program, our students from all over the world will learn Chinese at the Academy while local Chinese students study English at the Academy's sister English school
. This unique arrangement allows for both international students and their Chinese language buddies to interact, study and socialize with each other throughout their stay.
Our program also includes an exceptional team of international Camp Counselors, who come from countries such as the USA, UK, Australia and China. These Camp Counselors are there to provide direct supervision, guidance and assistance 24 hours a day. They accompany campers on their outdoor social events, sporting activities and excursions to ensure that the appropriate levels of supervision and control are maintained at all times.
Created specifically for participants aged 6 to 11, 12 to 17 years, the camp is held in Beijing at the ACLS Lido campus and operates during the months of July and August. (For age exceptions, please contact ACLS Office).

Students live in resident dormitories or host families. On-site staff take into account the student's age, nationality, and gender into consideration when allocating accommodation. Students are placed into accommodation with other students of the same gender & similar age. Accommodation depends on the program location selected. Residential program means living and having fun together 24 hours a day 7 days a week in the camp’s fully multicultural environment.
Home stay students enjoy camp activities on weekdays from 8.00am to 9.00pm and also become part of a Chinese family by living and spending the weekend with them.
Camp Residence Standard/Standard Plus: Students stay in double rooms with private bathrooms.
Host Family: Students stay in double rooms with a Chinese host family near the school.
Meals are full board every day of the week and include breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner. During excursions or activities, participants are provided lunch and a snack. The Home Stay Program includes full board, breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. Clothes and bed linen are collected and washed at a laundry service once a week. Students are requested to bring a laundry bag with them.
 The day camp program is designed for students who are accompanying their parents or relatives to Beijing or have special arrangements made and will not need housing. Students will participate fully in both the classes and activities during the day and return to their own housing arrangements by evening. The program takes place from 9:00am to 4:30pm from Monday to Friday and does not include weekends.
A bus service is available (at an additional cost) from Monday to Friday for all students whose parents cannot drive them to camp. Please ask for the routes and bus stops. This service costs $175 USD for 2 weeks.
